When first interpreting the brief, I had a clear vision of the target audience I would come to manipulate - unfortunately having known a few myself. They tend to think they are fairly self-aware with their heads screwed on and quickly buy into trends and fashions with their bulging wallets. They are modern and edgy yet educated and cultured, giving appreciation for not only what is stylish now, but passed historic eras and the overall vintage aesthetic. I felt these key elements of the target were essential base points to work from in a direction that would fulfil the brief and the overall design solution. This is where the influence from mid century modernism architecture, furniture and style finds it’s way into the overall vibe of the apartments and it’s identity.
